If you are a new applicant,  you can use the services of the IMSS. You might not be elegible for mejor surgeries before two years period. But you got the right to see the doctor for flue, back pain, typhoid, falls, etc. The Medicine is totally free.

Hi Jorge, I am a FM3 holder and now need to apply for IMSS.
I have my original birth certificate here in Mexico, so what else do I need to bring to you for the application besides my passport, FM3 and birth Cert, along with the applicable amount for the insurance. I am in the 60+ age group.
Many thanks.
Linda

Hi Linda:

You will need the following:
1.-Pasport
2.- Birth Certificate (make sure it includes parents name, if not write on a piece of paper: marriaged name)
3.- Fm3
4. 2 Front color pictures.
5. Pay annual fee 3,211.00

Our charge as a new IMSS applicant is 500.00 pesos.

Wait few days and you become a new IMSS member.

Remember been a member you got the right to use the doctor and have free medicine. Major surgeries and deceases are cover after the second year on IMSS.

Thanks and welcome to my site.
