Your site has FM3 renewal information on it. Do the same fees apply for an FM3 renewal in Cabo San Lucas? I used to live in Cabo but I am married and now living in the US and my FM3 expires 12-10-10. I will arrive in Cabo on Friday, 12-3-10 and leave on Saturday, 12-11-10. Could you recommend someone to handle the renewal of my FM3? I think it would be worth it to me to pay a procurement fee and have someone who is familiar with Immigration take care of it for me. What paperwork/pictures would be needed from me? I own a lot in the Pedregal but am not currently living in Mexico so do not have a utility bill other than TelCel. I would like to work with someone I trust as I have been quoted a variety of fees for the renewal and I want to make sure I am not being ripped off!

Jan Manning:
There is compensation for injuries in Mexico, in case of not been pay by the insurance company, you should complain against it trough the PROCURADURIA GENERAL DEL CONSUMIDOR (Consumers affairs Office). I don´t recommend you the civil way, it will take more time and it is not the tight procedure to ask for it.

I asked this question before and received an answer in the affirmative, so I asked a follow up question and never heard anything back. My question was: is there compensation for injuries in Mexico and if so how do I proceed with a claim?

New requirements: Mexican Immigration is replacing the green and gray books by a plastic card as an ID.

You will the the following almost as starting all over again.

Color pictures taken by an Studio
Old FM3
Passport
1294.00 pesos as annual fee
Fill up the FMI FORMAT
Power of attonery
Goto Guad for Fingerprints and digital signature.
As you see it is almost the same process, new is to bring more studio pictures and go to Guad again.

Thank you so much for answering. The accident was not a car accident. I wassitting on my moto which was not moving and fell over hitting a parked truck nearby. My health insurance comapny (not car insurance) covered some but far from all of the costs. So I guess the source of compensation is civil. What should I do next?
Thank you, Jan

Hi Jan:

There is such thing into the Lake Area and Mexico itself. Injuries could be claimed by a civil, penal or labor. Depends on the legal source is the path to take, there is also a term time to serve it. What was the source of that type of injury for your shoulder? If it was caused by a car accident, your insurance company should know about it and pay you some kind of compensation while in treatment and if this is going to stay there for ever.

I was surfing the web and came across a site that listed compensation for injuries in New York state. I was wondering if there is such a thing in the Lake Chapala area? I badly injured my shoulder in January and am having trouble paying for treatment, which included surgery and physio therapy. Thanks for any advice.
